*For comfort and an abundance of caution, we generally recommend against using the device directly on open wounds or implants. The infrared frequencies resonate with water, not metal or plastic. Any soft tissue that rubs up against these foreign objects that are not affected by the infrared light beam *may* experience some irritation.
Simply aim the light directly at your water in a glass or through the glass for at least 30-60 seconds for every 8oz’s of water.
